Police in Egg Harbor Township arrested a man from Atlantic City Tuesday morning who was wanted for attempted murder in Wildwood.

Just after 7:30 Tuesday morning, EHT Police responded to a house on Glenn Avenue in reference to a domestic incident. Upon arrival, officers were told an ex-boyfriend broke the victim’s windshield, made threats against the victim, and fled the scene on foot. The suspect, 25-year-old Hakim Clark of Atlantic City, was found to be wanted out of Wildwood for attempted murder, weapons offenses, along with warrants out of other jurisdictions.

Egg Harbor Township and Hamilton Township officers and detectives set up a perimeter around the area and began a search for the suspect. Two schools, The Joy Miller School and Alder Avenue Middle Schools, were put on lock down while the search was conducted. A K-9 search for the suspect lead to a foot pursuit in the area and the suspect was located and taken into custody after approximately a 90-minute search.

Clark was charged with terroristic threats, criminal mischief, resisting arrest by flight, and obstruction. Bail was set at $25,000 for those charges and an additional $10,000 full on a terroristic threats incident that took place on January 29th.

Detectives from the Wildwood police department responded and Clark was charged in their jurisdiction with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a handgun. Bail on those charges was set at $100,000 full and Clark was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
