Man with Weapon Charged After Absecon School Lockdown

For several hours Friday, parents had to wait and hope for the best, as the Absecon School Complex was put on lock-down after a report of a man with a weapon in the area.

Absecon Police say they first received a call at 11:53am about an armed man who had run from a local residence. Since the area was near the school complex, a lock-down was put into effect.

Following an investigation involving several law enforcement agencies, the suspect was found and taken into custody.

Police say Jesse Walker, 32, of Absecon, was charged with multiple weapons offenses and lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
