The body of a missing Marine from Egg Harbor Township was found yesterday, after he had been missing since Friday, April 7.

Twenty-one year old, Tyler Wechsler’s body was recovered from the Kaau Crater Trail in Hawaii on Tuesday, April 18, where police do not suspect any foul play to be the cause of death, according to KHON2.com

Tyler Wechsler was last seen near the International Marketplace on Sunday, April 9th around 3pm.  I spoke with Jessica Turner from Cherry Hill, NJ, who personally knew Tyler through intense Marine training. She says, "He was last seen with his girlfriend the day he went missing and she has no idea what happened to him, he just disappeared; No fighting between them or anything. She's been questioned multiple times, as well as his friends...no one has any clue where he could be because he left no trail of why he would have left, which is why people are thinking the worst right now."

When asked to describe Tyler, Turner said, "he was kind of the funny guy that kept more to himself, but was someone caught my eye and we became really good friends. Tyler was more of a jokester, made people laugh a lot, there was never a dull moment. He has a big heart and cares about everyone."

Tyler went to boot camp on Paris island, SC. He graduated and went to MCT at camp Geiger, NC. Then went to MOS School in Pensacola Florida. He graduated in January from Florida and a couple weeks later went to Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, HI. Tyler was an aviation mechanic.

As of yesterday, Tyler's dad and uncle were in Hawaii doing everything they can to bring Tyler home. The family and friends of Tyler had created a Go-Fund-Me page in the hopes to alleviate travel expense for the family as they searched for their missing Marine.

He is so loved and missed by his family and friends, and although donations to this page may not go to it's initial intended use, anything to support Tyler's family and friends during this time of need would greatly be appreciated.
