A man from Mays Landing is in trouble with the law after cops say he attempted to lure a child in Hamilton Township Monday morning.

Hamilton Township Police say they responded to the area of Pinehurst Avenue and Berry Drive in the Cloverleaf development around 11:30 Monday morning for the report of a possible child luring incident. Authorities say a caller advised them that a silver Subaru Forrester, driven by a white male with dark black hair, approached an 11-year-old girl while she was walking down the street. The suspect asked the girl if she needed a ride and for her phone number, at which point she ran to a neighbor’s house.
