Hamilton Township police say 38-year-old Charlie Brooks of Pine Hill was driving a motorcycle, reportedly at a high rate of speed, eastbound on the Black Horse Pike around 7:30 Wednesday morning when he collided with a large van that was turning left onto McCall Avenue.

Brooks was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van, owned by Senior Care Centers of America, was 72-year-old Carlos Landrau of Mays Landing; he suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Two people aboard the van were not injured.

McCall Ave and a portion of the Black Horse Pike were closed for over three hours as the scene was cleared and an investigation was conducted.

This crash marks the second day in a row that someone has died on nearly the same stretch of the Black Horse Pike in Hamilton Township. A 60-year-old Mays Landing resident was killed Tuesday morning near Malaga Road.

The investigation into the accident is continuing; anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to contact police at (609) 625-2700.
