A South Jersey based drunk driving campaign is going to be the title sponsor of a big time NASCAR race this weekend.

The John R. Elliot Hero Campaign for Designated Drivers will be the title sponsor for the NASCAR Nationwide Series race tonight in Kentucky.

The Hero Campaign  was founded and is run by South Jersey resident Bill Elliot. Elliot and his family formed the organization after his son, Navy Ensign and Egg Harbor Township High School graduate, John R. Elliot was killed in 2000 in an accident, caused by a drunk driver.

The Press of Atlantic City reports that Elliot and his wife, Muriel, will be Grand Marshals for the race, and the campaign will be mentioned throughout the race broadcast.

The John R. Elliot HERO Campaign 300 will be broadcast tonight at 7:30pm on ESPN.
