North Jersey Mall Forcing Stores To Be Open for 26 Hours at Thanksgiving

A mall in North Jersey has a couple department stores and those big stores are opening at 8:00 Thanksgiving night for Black Friday shopping. So what does the mall do? Have every store open at 8:00!

The Rockaway Townsquare Mall (no relation to our fine owners, Townsquare Media) in North Jersey, as a result of having a handful of stores opening at 8:00 Thanksgiving night for Black Friday shopping, is making every store in the mall open at 8:00 Thanksgiving night -- unnecessarily making dozens and dozens of people miss a night with their family members following Thanksgiving dinner.

And they're taking it one step further... the mall is staying open from 8PM Thanksgiving night all the way through 10PM Friday night -- 26 straight hours. And, yes, every store in the mall must be open and staffed for 26 hours.

Didn't they invent the internet to keep stuff like this from happening? Shouldn't we all be able to sit on the couch after a big Thanksgiving dinner and buy cheap stuff without having to exert any energy?
