Amanda Nunan is in Omaha, Nebraska this week to compete in the USA Olympic Trials for swimming!

Nunan will be a senior at OCHS in the Fall and she's been swimming competitively for years.

According to Shore News Today, Nunan qualified for the USA Olympic Trials in both the 400 and 800 meter freestyle.  (I used to swim the 500 yard freestyle in high school... I won a lot - but only because nobody else ever wanted to swim that long or far, lol)

During the televised trials, the top two fastest times in each race will qualify for the Olympics in Brazil.

Nunan did not qualify for the 400 meter freestyle, missing the top two by 61-hundredths of a second.

She will compete Friday for the 800 meter freestyle.

"Nunan entered the trials seeded 41st in the 800 meters with a qualifying time of 8 minutes, 42.84 seconds. In the 400 her qualifying time was 4:16.07, which placed her 85th on the list. The top two will be part of the USA team at the Olympics in Brazil. The heats in each even are held in the morning and the finals in the early evening. Televised coverage is provided by The NBC Sports Network (NBCSN)."

Cheer her on!!
