A family, an Ocean County police department and the community are grieving after a young police sergeant and mother of two young children died unexpectedly Friday at age 32.

Sgt. Alison Wray, a member of the Berkeley Twp. Police for nine years, suffered a stroke while she was on duty, according to her family.

Wray also leaves behind her fiance, Sgt. Henry Ganska, also of the Berkeley Township Police Department, and her two stepchildren, ages 11 and 15.

"Alison was a mother of beyond belief, she often joked about being the stereotypical 'PTA Mother' and often was very eccentric, to say the least, about proper care for her children," the family wrote on a gofundme.com online fundraiser page to raise money for her two children, ages 2 and 4.

The Berkeley Twp. Police Facebook page posted this tribute to their fallen sergeant.
