The Philadelphia Phillies Manager and General Manager as well as former Blueclaws Pitcher Jesse Biddle will be in town for the Lakewood BlueClaws Annual Winter Tour next week.

The Winter Tour Banquet, that takes place on Wednesday January 25th, is a fundraising event that benefits all the Minor League team’s charities.

BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown says the Phillies lineup includes General Manager Ruben Amaro, Manager Charlie Manuel, boy that’s going to be a lot of fun! We’re also bringing in our (BlueClaws) Manager Mickey Morandini. So, if you’re a long time Phillies fan, you get to meet our new manager Mickey Morandini, I think he played for the Phillies for nine years. I know he was on the 93 World Series team.”

Brown says the Winter Tour is a chance for fans to get to meet key members of their very supportive Major League team on a very personal level. He says Amaro and Manuel have attended the dinners before and they’re great with the fans.

Brown says having former BlueClaws Pitcher Jesse Biddle attend the event is also be a treat. According to the Minor League team’s press release, Biddle was a first-round pick of the Phillies from 2010 and named the South Atlantic League All-Star left-handed pitcher in 2011. “It’s also neat to see Jesse come back. We had him at the Winter Tour before he played for us. Now, to bring him back after he played for us, I’m anxious to see what the fans ask him as well.”

Brown says the event, at the Woodlake Country Club in Lakewood, raises money for over 40 BlueClaws charities. Tickets are just $40 but he says there’s still room. To reserve a spot call 732-901-7000 ext 172 or email ademichele@blueclaws.com
