We suffered through a few days of biting cold here in South Jersey. It might not have been as bad as it was for our friends in the Midwest, but it was still bad enough to rightfully complain about. While we complained on social media about the cold, we were blind to the silver lining that was occurring concurrently.

No more stink bugs.

That may be a bit of an over exaggeration, however you should be seeing a serious decrease in stink bugs crawling around your home. Back in 2014 Virginia Tech conducted a study to see which bugs survive a Polar Vortex. Lucky for us, stink bugs are on the list of the bugs that do no survive.

Fox 8 reported, "The release said the Polar Vortex may have killed 95 percent of the stink bugs that weren’t able to stay warm this winter."
