If you're hiding something from police - like drugs - it's probably not a good idea to start shooting off your gun, thus drawing attention to yourself.

Hamilton Township Police say they responded to a report of gunshots fired, back on April 29th, just after 11pm, at the Cologne Garden Apartments. They ended up arresting Michael A. Davis, 31, of Mays Landing, and charging him with aggravated assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and resisting arrest.

Davis was taken to jail

As a result of an investigation into the incident, police acquired a search warrant of Davis' vehicle, finding drugs and drug paraphernalia.

More charges have now been filed, according to police, including:

  • possession with intent to distribute over one half ounce of heroin,

  • possession of fentanyl without a prescription

  • possession of under one ounce of cocaine (24 grams)

  • possession of heroin/cocaine with intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a school zone

  • possession of heroin/cocaine with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public park
