Ever since Superstorm Sandy, stories of contractors who took money from South Jersey homeowners without completing repair work have been commonplace. Even so, the case of contractor Peter Rinaldi from Little Egg Harbor is disturbing.

Rinaldi, 56, is charged with taking payments from 12 residents in lower Ocean County without ever finishing construction projects he proposed. Now Rinaldi is missing and the Ocean County Prosecutor's office is asking for help finding him and bringing him to court to face theft and deception charges.

The Prosecutor says that between 2014 and 2016, Rinaldi stole close to $250,000 from Ocean County residents without completing or even starting the promised work.

If you have any knowledge of Rinaldi's whereabouts, contact police or Ocean County Prosecutor Economic Crimes at 732-814-1697.
