A hit-and-run indecent Tuesday night in front of Buena Regional High School was no accident, according to New Jersey State Police.

Desmond Fummey, 21, of Mays Landing has been charged with intentionally hitting Patrick Pearcy, 25, of Vineland, with his Ford Explorer at 7:42p.m.Tuesday. He then left the scene of the accident on Weymouth Road, police say

Pearcy is listed in stable but critical condition as of Wednesday afternoon, police said. He was flown to Cooper University Hospital on Tuesday night, according to the Press of Atlantic City.

Fummey has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence and endangering the welfare of an injured person.

He is being held at the Atlantic County jail on $35,000 bail.
