Yesterday afternoon, a portion of the Atlantic City Boardwalk collapsed into the Absecon Inlet near Grammercy Place.  Now Atlantic City officials will have to make the decision - repair or rebuild?

"Officials likely will demolish the newly collapsed area because they are leaning away from rebuilding the Boardwalk over the water in favor of reconstructing it as a walkway atop the bulkhead between the sand from the street."

It's still unknown what may have caused this portion of the boardwalk to collapse.  Speculation is that higher winds at the northern tip of Absecon have been deteriorating the Boardwalk along the Inlet, leaving a lot of it warped.  However, officials are still determining what happened yesterday.
