Ebose Eigbe correctly spelled the word "hypocrisy" in the 23rd round to capture the South Jersey Spelling Bee Saturday at Absegami High School.

The Roland Rogers Elementary School student from Galloway outlasted Paras Shah of Emma C. Attales School in Absecon to take the victory. Third Place went to Jewel Foster, a student at Galloway Township Middle School.

For his efforts, Ebose won a number of prizes, including the opportunity to attend the National Spelling Bee in Washington DC, May 27th - June 1st.

The South Spelling Bee in conducted by Townsquare Media - New Jersey, including Cat Country 107.3. Sponsors for the event included NJ Best, Ocean City Free Public Library, Santoro Chiropractic and Wellness Center, and Pineland Engraving.
