Several Injured in DWI Crash in Hamilton Township, Including 5-Month-Old Girl

Hamilton Township Police responded to a crash on Route 50 at Holly Street Tuesday night that injured several people including a 5-month-old baby girl.

A police investigation revealed that Juan Matta of Mays Landing was traveling south on Route 50, disregarded a red light, and crashed into the side of car.  After crashing into that car, he traveled over the median, across both northbound lanes and into a tree.

The car Matta crashed into was being driven by Briana Serio of Pennsylvania and in her car were Marie Serio of Egg Harbor City and a 5-month-old female. All three occupants were transported to Atlantic City Hospital City Division Trauma Unit for minor to moderate injuries.

Police say Matta was arrested at the scene for driving while under the influence and later charged with refusal to submit to a breathalyzer and several other charges.
