A school bus transporting students from a local school was hit by a driver who swerved in to another lane while having a sneezing attack on Monday afternoon.

According to The Press of Atlantic City, police report that John Delbene, 41, of Williamstown, lost control of his car when he began sneezing repeatedly and swerved into another lane, striking the Integrity Transportation school bus.

The accident happened at about 2:45 p.m. near the Black Horse Pike and Wrangleboro Road, Hamilton Township Police said in a news release.

School bus driver Amanda Lamar, 42, of Atlantic City, had just left the Atlantic County Institute of Technology with several students, police said.

Delbene, who was wearing a seat belt, was issued a summons for careless driving, police said.
