Parts of central, southern and coastal New Jersey could see some minor snow accumulations this afternoon and evening, according to a winter weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service Sunday.

Periods of snow could fall in Southeastern Burlington, Ocean, Monmouth, Cumberland, Atlantic and Cape May counties causing some hazardous travel conditions as temperatures drop to near-freezing in some spots. The advisory is in effect until 7 p.m.

"Minor accumulations of snow are expected through tonight along New Jersey's south coast," according to NJ 101.5 Meteorologist Dan Zarrow.

A winter weather advisory for snow means that periods of snow could results in travel difficulties and limited visibility. The NWS advises motorists to use caution when driving, as wet roadways will become slippery later this evening as temperatures drop below the freezing mark.
