South Jersey Pothole Season in High Gear

Potholes
Egg Harbor Township / Townsquare Media

The nasty weather this winter has turned many roads in South Jersey into pothole battlefields. Here’s how to get them fixed!

Parking lots, side streets, major highways, and toll roads are all seeing their share of moon crater-sized potholes this winter — and if you hit one, you could be in for a teeth-jarring experience. So, what can you do about it?

If you see a pothole on the Garden State Parkway, you can report it on their on-line maintenance form. You’ll need know the nearest mile marker or exit number.

If you see a pothole on a state highway (Black and White Horse Pikes, Route 9, Route 50, Route 47, etc.), the Department of Transportation also has an on-line form that you can fill out. Like the Parkway, it’s helpful to know the nearest mile marker or cross street. Their website also has information if you need to file a pothole damage claim.

If it’s a county road, you have several options:

- Atlantic County: Use their online form or call (877) 426-7623.

- Cape May County: Use their online form or call (609) 465-1035.

- Cumberland County: call (856) 453.2192.

- Ocean County: call (732) 929-2133.

If you see a pothole on a local road or side street, you will need to contact that municipality.
