A storm that rolled through South Jersey early this morning caused widespread damage and power outages galore across the region. Click here for updates.

Atlantic City Electric now reports over 168,000 people are without power this morning as crews hit the streets early to work on re-connecting lines that went down during the storm.

In areas such as Egg Harbor Township and Northfield, trees are down on roads and houses. Trees blew over and snapped throughout the region. Traffic lights are not working, or are turned the wrong way on many streets.

Atlantic County Emergency Management Officials are asking everyone to stay off the roads so crews can clean up.

Weather officials say it was not a tornado, but a storm packing very high, hurricane strenth winds.
