NJ Bar in Hot Water Over Underage Stripper

NATIONAL PARK, NJ – A bar’s license is suspended after alcohol control investigators discovered that a 17-year-old stripper was being served drinks “to loosen her up” for work at the establishment. (Flickr User: Markusram)

Park Place Bar and Grill will have its license suspended for 50 days according to NJ’s Office of the Attorney General and several arrests were made.

Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) investigators visiting the bar in Feb. 2011 found that the 17-year-old stripper had been served Long Island Ice Tea and Bay Breeze cocktails by the bartender on duty.

When questioned, the bartender informed the investigators that her bosses had instructed her to give the stripper as much alcohol as she wanted to “loosen her up.” The 17-year-old stripper had allegedly been hired to dance and socialize with the patrons that night.

“This was an egregious abuse of the privilege to sell alcohol. The potential for illegal activity resulting from serving alcoholic beverages to a 17-year-old girl may have been averted only by the presence of ABC personnel,” said Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control Director Michael Halfacre.

Partial bar owner Donald Rossiter Jr. was arrested and charged with serving alcohol to an under-aged person. His father, employed at the bar in a management position, Donald Rossiter Sr. was arrested and charged as well. The stripper was charged with drinking alcohol underage and released to her father’s custody.

Two additional customers were arrested and charged by ABC Detectives for drinking underage.
