Keith Urban and Randy Jackson both agreed that this was the best performance in American Idol history.  And that news brought Candice Glover to tears.  And then I started crying too.  Big surprise...

I have been a less-than-faithful American Idol fan this year.  But I caught the whole show last night and I will agree with Keith Urban and Randy Jackson that Candice Glover's performance of 'Lovesong,' originally by the Cure, was one of the best performances in Idol history.

The arrangement was absolutely beautiful and Candice has one of the best voices in the competition.  If not, the best.

The show had two themes last night, Burt Bacharach/Hal David songs and then songs that you wish you had written.  Candice sang the Bacharach song (sung originally by Dionne Warwick) 'Don't Make Me Over.'  And that performance could be hailed as one of the best.  It was definitely one of the best of the night.

But the kicker was 'Lovesong.'  Watch it below and see if you agree.

My husband (who, I swear, can see the future....) said when she finished the song, "She just won with that performance."  He said the same thing when Carrie Underwood sang 'Alone' by Heart way back when....

And on a side note...  Poor Randy Jackson needs to stop talking about Garth Brooks.  Just in general, stop talking about him.  You obviously don't know that much about the guy, so stop.  Remember a few years ago, when he thought Brad Paisley sang 'Shameless'....  Well, last night Randy said that Garth Brooks wrote 'The Dance.'  I would like to make sure that EVERYONE knows that Tony Arata wrote 'The Dance.'  And I'm proud to say that I know that because Tony Arata went to Georgia Southern University.  That also happens to be my Alma mater.  And Luke Bryan's for that matter.

Just FYI.
