Thomas Rhett’s ‘Grave’ a Forever Love Song and Then Some [Listen]

Thomas Rhett‘s newest song from Life Changes is a forever love song with an exclamation point. “Can’t take diamonds can’t take gold / But I’ll take your love with me when I go / I’m gonna take it to the grave with me,” he sings during “Grave.”

Chris DeStefano, Hillary Lindsey and Josh Miller wrote “Grave,” the last song on Life Changes (Sept. 8). The ballad finds the married singer gushing to his bride in a dozen different ways. A recently released lyric video goes inside photos on a wall to add action and beauty to an otherwise static scene. Fans are climbing his staircase, so to speak.

Thus far fans have been privy to four songs from Rhett’s third studio album. “Craving You” with Maren Morris already topped the radio airplay chart, while his new single “Unforgettable” is approaching the Top 20. “Sixteen” is wife Lauren’s favorite song on the album.

The title track is about his ascension from awkward college student to country music headliner, husband and father. Lauren and Rhett adopted a little girl from Uganda earlier this year and welcomed baby Ada James on Aug. 12.

Rhett wrote 10 of 14 songs on his new album, often teaming up with his favorite co-writers, including those who helped pen hits on his last album. “Die a Happy Man” co-writers Joe Spargur and Sean Douglas helped with two songs. Dann Huff and Jesse Frasure are back to produce the album that includes two duets, an EDM track and more.
