Three men from Atlantic City have been arrested after Atlantic City Police say they fled from officers after one man pointed a handgun at an unknown victim.

The ACPD says officers responded to Tennessee and Atlantic Avenues around 5:15 Tuesday morning for a report of three men getting out of a vehicle with one man pointing a gun. An officer was able to quickly locate the vehicle and as he attempted to stop it, the driver sped off with the officers giving chase.

Authorities say the car stopped in the 800 block of Virginia Avenue and the three men ran from the vehicle. One officer chased and arrested 26-year-old Kyrie Johnson of Atlantic City. Another officer located 26-year-old Abdul Bailey of Atlantic City hiding behind a dumpster and took him into custody.

The third man was able to get away, but an investigation led to him being identified as 25-year-old Yahsin Cheeks of Atlantic City. Cheeks was observed on surveillance video with the handgun. Later that morning, two detectives located Cheeks in the 2100 block of Sheridan Avenue and he was taken into custody without incident.

Johnson and Bailey were both charged with eluding, obstruction of justice, and resisting arrest. Cheeks was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, eluding, obstruction of justice, and resisting arrest. All three men were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
