Three South Jersey shore towns have made the list for having some of the best boardwalk food in the nation.

TheDailyMeal.com has released a list of the 31 best boardwalks for food in America and a total of eight New Jersey beach towns received a nod; three are here in South Jersey. The website took several factors into consideration, including social media interaction, the quantity of restaurants, the variety of eateries, and the "fun factor."

The boardwalks in San Diego, CA, and Ocean City, MD, were ranked one and two, followed by Wildwood at three ("with heavy Philadelphia culinary influences, the Wildwood Boardwalk food scene is bursting with fried and gourmet options alike"), Atlantic City at four ("...high-end restaurants for a gourmet experience, but this historical site has a ton of beach food everyone can afford"), and Santa Cruz, CA, at five. Further down the list, Seaside Heights was 14th, Ocean City was 15th, and Asbury Park was ranked 18th.
