There's nothing quite like stepping onto the Atlantic City Boardwalk and having a guy, speaking in broken English, ask if you want a ride on his rolling chair.

Those days may someday come to an end as Atlantic City moves forward to the age of the tram car.

The Atlantic City Jitney Association begins a trial on the boardwalk today of a new battery-powered tram bus.

While the Jitney Association claims it's not out to take business from the rolling chair operators, the chair-pushers aren't so sure. The issue went to court yesterday, and the judge ruled in favor of the tram operators.

"Watch for the tram car, please! That goes for yous high rollers, too."
