An accident that resulted in a traffic light toppling over onto the roadway has reportedly sent two children to the hospital with injuries.

The crash occurred early this afternoon at the intersection of Tilton Road and Uibel Avenue.

According to the Press of Atlantic City:

A 2012 Chevy Sonic operated by Brittany Morgan, 27, of Pleasantville, was traveling east on Tilton Road when a westbound Honda Accord made a left turn on to Uibel Avenue and the two collided.

The impact with the Honda Accord, operated by John Orelien, 21 of Egg Harbor Township, caused Morgan’s vehicle to veer off to the right and strike a light standard, which fell on top of the vehicle.

Morgan and her two young children, ages five and one, were treated at the scene by the Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad and AtlantiCare paramedics.

They were transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, Trauma Center with moderate injuries.
