State police say a woman and her mother were killed and six other people were injured in a crash on the Garden State Parkway Saturday afternoon.

The accident occurred just before 3:00 Saturday afternoon on the southbound side of the Parkway near mile marker 63.6 in Stafford Township. Troopers say a car driven by 45-year-old Naoma Johnson struck a pickup truck; the collision sent both cars careening off the side of the road. Johnson and her mother, Frances Hill, both of Washington Township, Gloucester County, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Two 14-year-old passengers in her car were injured along with two adults and two young children in the pickup.
