I can't figure out which story is more bizarre...

Story #1: Three people in West Palm Beach have pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit wire fraud after federal prosecutors said the trio conned senior citizens into buying unnecessary septic products, including, in some cases, up to a 70-year supply of toilet paper. At least a dozen elderly people were told they needed special toilet paper due to new federal regulations (the federal government does not regulate T.P.). They now face 20 years in prison.

Story #2: Manatee County, FL, sheriff's officials believe a dog accidentally dialed 911 and then was shot when deputies arrived to investigate the call. Investigators believe a dog accidentally stepped on a phone inside a home and dialed 911. After the call was disconnected, a deputy went to the home to investigate the situation. When the owner of the home opened the door, she was unable to keep her two bull mastiff-pit bull mix dogs inside and one began trying to bite the deputy, who was eventually forced to shoot one of the dogs. The injured dog was taken to the vet.
