Cops in Atlantic City have been busy recently with four people being arrested after two search warrants were executed.

Atlantic City Police say on September 20th at midnight, detectives executed a search warrant at the 24 Seven Food Mart at 1406 Atlantic Avenue and 32-year-old Faheem Tariq of Egg Harbor Township and 34-year-old Clarence Small of Pleasantville were arrested. During a search of the store, detectives recovered 26 grams of cocaine, 87 bags of heroin, and prescription pills. Just over $2,000 was also seized and believed to be proceeds from drug sales.

The following day, September 21st at 9:30 in the morning, detectives executed a residential search warrant in the 700 block of Maryland Avenue. Cops located 19-year-old Kenneth Landis of Atlantic City inside and he was arrested. Detectives recovered a loaded handgun, 106 grams of marijuana, and $500 believed to be drug proceeds. While at the residence, the apartment’s lessee, 43-year-old Yanira Patel of Atlantic City, arrived. She was arrested after being found in possession of heroin.

In the first case, both Tariq and Small were charged with four counts each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession of CDS with the intent to distribute, possession of CDS with the intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, and a single count of conspiracy. Both were released on a summons with a future court date.

In the second instance, Landis was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of CDS, possession of CDS with the intent to distribute, and possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense. Landis was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Patel was charged with possession of CDS and released on a summons with a future court date.
