Two Weeks Until the Olympics
I am an Olympics junkie. I should probably seek professional help.
And I'm a Summer Olympics freak, I like the Winter Olympics, but I won't go as crazy for those games as I do for the summer games.
I lived in Atlanta during the 1996 Summer Olympics and that is where my love of the games began. I was even in Centennial park when the bomb went off, thankfully my family & I were a safe distance away. Living in a city where the Olympics are being held is not something everyone gets to experience and I feel very fortunate to have had that experience.
My mom is an Olympic nut, too. Everyday she got up early and would wait in a ticket line to grab up extra tickets to events happening that day. In turn, I saw some events that aren't the most popular... But it was such a cool experience! I saw archery, badminton, baseball, basketball, canoeing, swimming and track and field.
Needless to say, I'm pumped for the London Olympics. I will watch any event that's televised at any random hour on any random NBC network! I just love it!
And don't forget to cheer on our local Olympians! South Jersey Magazine has all the details on 6 South Jersey-ians that are headed to London.
