A man from Virginia has been arrested in connection with a recent bank robbery in Ocean City and officials say he could be involved with several others in our region.

On December 15th, the TD Bank branch in Ocean City was robbed by a male who was later identified by two Atlantic City police officers as 42-year-old Bruce Higgins, Jr., from Herndon, VA.

According to a press release, members of the FBI and Atlantic City Police Department were looking for Higgins in Atlantic City on Friday when, at 12:18 PM, he entered the TD Bank on North Pennsylvania Avenue. Bank personnel hit their emergency alarm initiating a police response. Higgins left the bank without speaking to anyone.

A witness informed an officer that Higgins left in a cab and provided the cab number and direction of travel. The cab was located at South Carolina and Atlantic Avenues by several officers. Officers began to look for Higgins who was found walking on South Carolina Avenue and arrested.

Higgins is wanted by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the FBI Atlantic City Resident Agency for questioning related to the robbery of the TD Bank in Ocean City.  The FBI, Baltimore Division, Violent Crimes Task Force also wants Higgins for questioning in reference to robberies at two banks and a grocery store in Maryland.
