Mayor Ernie Troiano wants to spend $20 million to rebuild a 15 block stretch of the famed Wildwood Boardwalk.

The stretch of boards that Troiano wants to rebuild extend just north of the Wildwoods Convention Center up to 26th Avenue.

According to NJ.com,

Mayor Ernie Troiano said the stretch of boardwalk from north of the Wildwoods Convention Center to Lincoln Avenue and from Oak Avenue to 26th Avenue is in "deplorable" condition," according to the Wildwood Leader's website.

The Mayor would like to use Brazilian hardwood, but that idea is a bit controversial.  The boards on that chunk of the boardwalk have been in place since 1926.
