Work continues on the Volunteer Way extension project in Mays Landing, which will eventually link Wrangleboro Road to McKee Avenue and provide access to a new shopping center.

As the land clearing phase of building the new nearly 300,000-square foot Gravelly Run Square shopping center on the Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing continues, so does work on getting around the new retail center.

Volunteer Way, which has long been a dead end street running behind Shore Toyota from McKee Avenue, will soon see a sharp increase in traffic.

Once work is finished, you will be able to travel from Wrangleboro Road, cross the Black Horse Pike, and continue straight onto Volunteer Way, which will take you past a side entrance to the new shopping center, and then eventually over to McKee Avenue, eliminating the need to drive on one of the most congested sections of Routes 40/322 in Hamilton Township.

We recently walked the part that is still under construction to see what the new road looks like (and because in the future it will be impossible to stand in the middle of this street)...
