Authorities say an Atlantic City police officer was injured Tuesday morning when a man with warrants for his arrest ran a stop sign in the city.

The ACPD says just before 10:00 this morning, 37-year-old Myron Brown of Atlantic City was driving and failed to stop at a stop sign at Connecticut and Wabash Avenues. Officer Ryan Mullin, who they say was driving a marked patrol car, was traveling through the intersection when Brown’s vehicle crashed into the side of the patrol car. The impact caused the police car to spin, it left the road, hit a fence, went back into the road, and struck a second parked car.

Cops say both Brown and Mullin were taken to ARMC-City for treatment of injuries.

Brown was arrested for several active warrants. He was also found to not have a valid driver’s license. Brown was charged with contempt of court and several traffic summons; he was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
