A man from Millville is facing a long list of charges after allegedly running from police in Atlantic City and then being found with two guns.

The Atlantic City Police Department says the scene unfolded just before 4 AM this past Monday, July 18th, when officers on the 3000 block of the Boardwalk were managing a large crowd.

There, cops, "observed a male drop what the officers believed to be a handgun. Officers then observed the male attempt to retrieve the handgun at which time they gave him verbal commands to not pick up the weapon. The male, Marquise Milledge, refused the officers’ commands, picked up the handgun, and fled on foot westbound on the boardwalk."

A chance ensued and with help from other officers, Milledge was apprehended in the second block of South Chelsea Avenue.

Police say when he was searched, they discovered Milledge was in possession of a second gun in his waistband.

The recovered handguns were found to be loaded and fitted with high capacity magazines. One of the handguns was loaded with hollow point ammunition. It was also determined one of the loaded handguns was reported stolen out of Vineland, NJ.

Additionally, Milledge was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Bridgeton.

26-year-old Marquise Milledge has been charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, two counts of possession of a high-capacity magazine, possession of hollow-point ammunition, receiving stolen property, and two counts of obstruction.

Milledge was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
