The Atlantic City Police Department has announced seven officers have been promoted and, additionally, one Class II officer has been promoted to officer.

The officers were sworn in at the Public Safety Building as Mayor Marty Small, Sr., administered the oath of office.

Officials say the supervisors will be assigned to commands throughout the department and the new officer will be assigned to the Operations Division.

Among the seven promotions was Bridget Pierce, who is now a deputy chief. She becomes the highest ranking female officer in the history of the Atlantic City Police Department.

  • Promoted from Lieutenant to Captain of Police: Mary Grace Cooke, Douglas Pierce
  • Promoted from Sergeant to Lieutenant of Police: Monica Coursey, Kevin Fair, Donnell Holland, Henry White III
  • Elevated from Special Law Enforcement Officer, Class II to Police Officer: Kushal Laroiya
