Cops in Atlantic City believe they have arrested a suspected serial burglar.

According to a press release, an ACPD officer located 24-year-old Jesus Cotto in the 1100 block of Arctic Avenue Tuesday night. Cotto matched the description of a recent burglary suspect.

The ACPD says Cotto initially provided the officer with a fake name, but was identified when he was fingerprinted, which resulted in learning he had two active warrants for his arrest.

Cotto was charged with burglarizing several stores that included:

  • September 23 - convenience store on the 1600 block of Atlantic Avenue.
  • September 28 - convenience store on the 1100 block of Arctic Avenue.
  • September 30 - convenience store on the 500 block of Indiana Avenue.
  • October 2 - convenience store on the 1100 block of Arctic Avenue.

Cotto has been charged with four counts each of burglary and theft, hindering apprehension, and contempt of court; he was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
