Two people in a car were injured by gunfire Tuesday night in Atlantic City.

Atlantic City Police say around 9:30 Tuesday night, patrol officers responded to the first block of South Florida Avenue for a ShotSpotter alert.

They say a man and a woman, who were in the same vehicle, were wounded. The man, identified as being 33-years-old and from Galloway, was shot and he drove himself to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The woman, who is 36-years-old and from Atlantic City, ran from the vehicle after sustaining an injury from shrapnel. She was taken to the hospital by an Atlantic City police officer.
