A man from Bridgeton has been arrested and charged with robbing two banks in South Jersey, one as recently as earlier this week in Mays Landing.

Cops say 52-year-old Thomas Allen's bank robbing spree began back on July 13th at the TD Bank branch on Cornwell Drive in Bridgeton. Allen's second heist happened this past Tuesday morning at the Ocean First Bank branch on Route 40 in Mays Landing.

In the Mays Landing robbery, the suspect was described as a, "light skinned black or Hispanic male with a beard, approximately 5’05 – 5’10, in his 30’s – 40’s, medium build, wearing a tan hat, black sunglasses, khaki pants, a dark jacket, a blue striped button up shirt, and black and white shoes," and the robber gave a teller a note demanding money. The description of the suspect in the TD Bank robbery was nearly the same.

Following a joint investigation between Hamilton Township Police, New Jersey State Police, and the FBI, Allen was located at the Days Inn on Landis Avenue in Vineland on Thursday and arrested.

Thomas was charged with two counts of 2nd degree robbery and one count of theft. He was lodged in the Cumberland County Jail.
