This week back in 1969, Conway Twitty recorded his smash hit "Hello Darlin'" in Mt. Juliet, TN.

Conway Twitty, who is immediately thought of as a legend in country music, didn't have an easy start to his professional career. He began releasing singles in 1956, but it wouldn't be until 1966 when his songs started to enter the top 40. Twitty achieved his first #1 in 1968 with "Next In Line;" "Hello Darlin'" would be his fourth #1 song.
