Cops: Mullica Twp. Man Involved in Burglary Dies from Gunshot Wounds
A man who was allegedly involved in a robbery Monday morning has died from gunshot wounds sustained while committing the crime.
Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner says around 3AM Monday, Mullica Township Police received a 911 call reporting a home break-in with a subsequent gunshot injury on the 3000 block of Moores Avenue.
Police responded and found 30-year-old Paul Destefano with serious injuries. He was airlifted to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City for treatment.
On Wednesday, Destefano was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy, which will be completed later this week.
The circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
