Country music star Craig Morgan has signed up to participate in the 19th Jack Daniels/USO “Toast to the Troops” event being held July 11th in Jacksonville, Florida.

For the event, 7,500 USO volunteers, military families and the general public will come together to fill care packages for servicemen and women who are currently stationed overseas. Due to heightened security, packages and letters addressed to “Any Service Member” can no longer be sent so the USO Care Package Program is the best way to send encouraging gifts to military members.

Morgan who served 10 years in the United States Army before achieving country music stardom is therefore always honored to perform at events aiding military servicemen and women. To continue his support, Morgan will be performing a free and open to the public concert after the event, this will be his 9th year participating in “Toast to the Troops.”

Morgan tells Great American Country, “I’ve said it before, but being part of every Toast event over the past eight years has been a really rewarding experience for me. Our nation’s service members and their families sacrifice so much for us on a daily basis and I hope everyone will come out and join us for what promises to be a great day to honor and support these heroes.”

Since 2005 when the first event took place, there have been 18 stuffing events held across the country that has helped to deliver 165,000 care packages. Included in these packages are items requested by the troops including sunscreen, playing cards, snacks, disposal camera, international calling cards and the toast card message of support.
