A jury in Atlantic County has convicted a man on first-degree attempted murder, armed robbery, and other charges in connection to two incidents that took place in Atlantic City in 2018 and 2019.

According to the original press release from the Atlantic City Police Department, on January 1, 2019, Harrell was arrested in the 3000 block of Pacific Avenue. At the time of his arrest, police say he was in possession of a knife and identified as a suspect in two violent incidents over two days.

The ACPD says, "At 8:39 pm, patrol officers responded to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, in reference to a stabbing victim. The victim, 47 years old, was driven to the medical center after being stabbed at Georgia and Pacific Avenues. Harrell attempted to steal a woman’s purse when the victim intervened. During a fight, Harrell stabbed the victim and fled."

It was after that fight that Harrell was arrested.

Police said Harrell was wanted following an investigation into a shooting just the day before. In that case, officers responded to the Econo Lodge in the 3000 block of Pacific Avenue for the report of gunfire. The victim, identified only as being 48-years-old, was shot multiple times and taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

An investigation by detectives of the ACPD's Violent Crimes Unit led to a warrant being issued for Harrell’s arrest.
