Dine With Dead Bodies at the World’s Scariest McDonald’s [Watch]
No, this isn't some sort of joke, and these aren't CPR or crash test dummies. These are real human skeletons we are talking about here at a McDonald's restaurant.
There is an actual McDonald's in Italy that sits on top of a 2,000-year-old road that is believed to be part of the Appian Way, one of the busiest roads of ancient Rome. When this was discovered during the restaurant's construction, McDonalds spent over $300,000 to preserve the ancient site and make it a feature of this fast food chain's location.
The floor in the restaurant is glass just so you can see the human skeletons below — as you eat.
A couple on TikTok went viral with their clip of them discovering this relic of a McDonald's in Italy.
@Kassidy_and_james posted the clip, which starts out with Kassidy saying, "Bro, I'm at McDonald's right now, right? We're in Rome, keep that in mind."
As she starts to walk over the stone road that now has glass over it, she shows under her feet that there's a skeleton just chilling there.
"An absolute skeleton, in the McDonald's," she says as she looks shocked into the camera.
Why is this a thing? Let's take a look under the hood here at what's going on.
According to the internets, the road is a 147-foot section of a diverticulum, or side road, that was built between the first and second centuries BCE and probably led to a wealthy family's villa.
The road was discovered in 2014 during construction of the restaurant, and McDonald's paid to restore it and incorporate it into the restaurant.
"A true 'restaurant-museum' was realized," McDonald's Italia told Newsweek back in 2022. "The only one of its kind in Italy and the first in the world for McDonald's."
As you can see, once people find out about this McDonald's location, they all want to go there, especially during spooky season.
Not sure if something like this would fly here in America.
