This Beloved Asbury Park, NJ Biergarten Is Closed For Good Now
There's nothing more devastating than the loss of a beloved local watering hole, especially when that watering hole had the ability to transport people to another country.
You could grab a beer and some brunch at this spot any time of the year and it would be great, but it was during this bars legendary Oktoberfest celebration that it really became a must visit spot near the Jersey Shore.
The Asbury Biergarten Is Officially Closed For Good
It was the most authentic German Biergarten experience you could get near the Jersey Shore, and now it's closed for good according to APP.
Located on Lake Avenue in the Asbury Distilling Building, this place was a cornerstone of the local business community in downtown Asbury Park.
It was the kind of place you could head to after a long day of shopping to grab some grub and a beer, or a fun place to stop before you hit the beach.

Why Did The Asbury Biergarten Have To Close For Good In Asbury Park, NJ?
The reason is three-fold.
Firstly, there was a massive flood in Asbury Park back in 2023 where 7 inches of rain fell in a short period of time, which caused the Biergarten to close its doors.
There were a lot of places affected by that flood, the House of Independents also had to close due to that flood, but the House of Independents has since reopened.
Secondly, the Biergarten has been fighting with the insurance agency in order to get money to rebuild from the flood, and the insurance company has now said they won't be providing any type of relief for this beloved business.
Lastly, APP reports that the rent for the Biergarten was increased to three times what it was just a year ago to somewhere around $50,000 or $60,000 a month, which is insane!
I'll be sad to see this place be gone for good, I was really holding out hope that something might pan out.
