Scammers are targeting E-ZPass users by sending them a text message, claiming to be from E-ZPass or EZDriveMA, the toll system in Massachusetts, that says you owe them money for tolls and that your payment is needed right away, according to the Asbury Park Press

The message claims you owe them less than $10 so you may think because it's not a lot of money it could be true.

E-ZPass will never send you a text message regarding payment, according to the article.

So if you receive a text from E-ZPass asking for money it's important to delete it immediately.

E-ZPass Scam Alert!

Here's exactly what the text message says:

"Your vehicle has an unpaid toll bill. To avoid excessive late fees on your bill, please settle it promptly. Thank you for your cooperation! Total amount: $6.99"

Call your bank immediately if you accidentally fall for it.
