The BEST Ways To Avoid Getting The Horrible Stomach Bug!
Avoid The Terrible Stomach Flu
I am trying to decide which is worse a fever or a stomach bug. Both are horrible and I hope I avoid each type of virus. I think I am leaning towards the stomach bug as maybe the worst because as we know this one can affect us in "many" ways and it's draining (pardon my use of verbiage).
Right now there is a large amount of stomach flu going around. The "Norovirus" is the "bug" that's causing this virus. According to a recent Patch article, "Common symptoms include diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach pain. This illness is highly contagious and outbreaks are common due to the ease of transmission."
Some folks compare this stomach bug to the feeling of experiencing food poisoning. From what I have been told food poisoning is horrible to go through and like the stomach bug, I hope to not experience either.
Tips To Avoid Getting Stomach Flu
In the Patch article, it appears one of the best ways to avoid getting stomach flu is by simply washing your hands. "To help stop the spread, wash your hands well with soap and water. Hand sanitizer alone does not work well against Norovirus. Do not prepare or handle food, or care for others when you are sick."
So extra hand washing is a must during this stomach bug season. Another tip is to make sure you wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly. Use hot water to wash your bedding and clothes. Spare your coworkers and friends and if you feel a stomach virus coming on simply stay home.
Stay healthy everyone and if you unfortunately experienced the stomach bug share any tips you have that helped you get through this brutal illness. Drink plenty of fluids and of course as always whenever you have a "health issue" consult your physician.
