Congressional Races In New Jersey Ocean-Monmouth Counties

Election day is only a few weeks away. ⁦Election day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024⁩. There have been changes over the years to our congressional districts in New Jersey and with this year's election of such interest, do you know what district you're in and who is running? North Jersey put together a comprehensive look at congressional races around the state. We focus on races in Ocean, Burlington (sections) and Monmouth counties.

New Jersey's 2nd congressional district

This district is a combination of counties and is basically "South Jersey". According to Wikipedia, it's a combination of Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean, and Salem Counties.

2nd district towns in Ocean County consist of "Barnegat, Barnegat Light, Beach Haven, Berkeley Township (part; also 4th), Eagleswood, Harvey Cedars, Lacey (part; also 4th), Little Egg Harbor Township, Long Beach Township, Ocean Township, Ship Bottom, Stafford Township, Surf City, Tuckerton"

The incumbent is Republican Jeff Van Drew who is running against challenger Democrat Joe Salerno.

 

New Jersey's 3rd congressional district

This district is a combination of Burlington, Mercer, and Monmouth Counties. 3rd district towns in Monmouth County "Allentown, Englishtown, Freehold Borough, Freehold Township (part; also 4th), Holmdel, Manalapan, Marlboro, Millstone, Roosevelt, Upper Freehold."

Democratic candidate Herb Conaway is running against Republican candidate Rajesh Mohan. There is no incumbent because Andy Kim is running for U.S. Senate.

New Jersey's 4th congressional district

This district consists of Monmouth and Ocean County. In Monmouth "Avon-By-The-Sea, Belmar, Brielle, Colts Neck Township, Eatontown, Farmingdale, Freehold Township (part; also 3rd), Howell Township, Lake Como, Manasquan, Middletown Township (part; also 6th), Ocean Township, Sea Girt, Shrewsbury, Shrewsbury Township, Spring Lake, Spring Lake Heights, Tinton Falls, Wall Township."

In Ocean "Beachwood, Berkeley Township (part; also 2nd), Bay Head, Brick, Island Heights, Jackson Township, Lacey (part; also 2nd), Lakehurst, Lakewood Township, Lavallette, Manchester Township, Mantoloking, Ocean Gate, Pine Beach, Point Pleasant Beach, Point Pleasant, Plumsted Township, Seaside Heights, Seaside Park, South Toms River, Toms River."

Longtime Incumbent Republican Chris Smith takes on Democratic challenger Matthew Jenkins.

 

New Jersey's 6th congressional district

This district consists of towns from Middlesex and Monmouth Counties. In Monmouth "Aberdeen Township, Allenhurst, Asbury Park, Atlantic Highlands, Bradley Beach, Deal, Fair Haven, Hazlet, Highlands, Interlaken, Keansburg, Keyport, Little Silver, Loch Arbour, Long Branch, Matawan, Middletown Township (part; also 4th), Monmouth Beach, Neptune City, Neptune Township, Oceanport, Red Bank, Rumson, Sea Bright, Union Beach, West Long Branch."

Incumbent Democratic candidate Rep. Frank Pallone is taking on Republican candidate Scott Fegler.
